International Practice at Community College in Regen, Germany

Ieva Alksnite, the head of the training centre „LatConsul” Ltd. was in Regen, Germany as part of the EU Lifelong Learning Program, Leonardo da Vinci Mobility Project - „International Practice „Volkshochschule fur den Landkreis Regen” organization”. German Community College „Volkshochschule fur den Landkreis Regen” (VHS) has been the cooperation partner of the training centre „LatConsul” since 2007.

One more international project management course

Grundtvig training course “PRACTICAL EDUCATIONAL MANAGEMENT – PROJECT DEVELOPMENT AND MANAGEMENT” as part of EU Lifelong Learning Program was taking place in the business consulting and training centre LatConsul, March 18 – 24, 2012.
One year ago, our training centre was visited by six representatives of various European countries to learn project management. This time there was the next session of this course. 

Attending International Conference in Greece


Aija Lokenbaha, Product Development Manager at LatConsul, Ltd., attended an international conference that took place in the second biggest Greek city Saloniki (Thessaloniki) within the framework of the European Union (EU) Lifelong Learning Programme Grundtvig on December 7 – 11, 2011.

Visiting the Netherlands

The project manager of Latconsul, Ltd. Liene Riekstiņa participated in the international contact seminar “Quality Professionals in VET” in Groningen, the Netherlands on November 2 – 5. The visit was financed by the European subsidy programme Leonardo da Vinci.

Participation of LatConsul in International Project Family Business

Latconsul, Ltd. has involved in the international project "Family Business" within the framework of EU Longlife Learning Programme Grundtvig subprogramme with the aim to promote the development and growth of family-owned companies in Latvia as well as to draw attention to this sector of great economic importance.

"LatConsul" is organizing international project management courses

An international project management course "PRACTICAL EDUCATIONAL MANAGEMENT - PROJECT DEVELOPMENT AND MANAGEMENT" within the European Union's Lifelong Learning Programme adult training programme Grundtvig was held in business consulting and training center "LatConsul" from 17th till 23th of April 2011.

Six participants from European countries visited the training center and attended the training course. The participants were from Italy, Turkey, Portugal and Romania. Training was given by lecturers who speak advanced English – Martins Valters, Janis Briedis and Uldis Vitolins. 

An international training event in Turkey

“LatConsul” Ltd employees - project consultant and lecturer Uldis Vitolins and marketing and project manager Ginta Salmina visited Gaziantep, Turkey from 20th till 27th of March, 2011. This visit took place within EU exchange project. It was an international training course “Digital Youth - Digital Citizenship”. The main goal of the project was to train new teachers work with young people in the area of informal education. 

Group of teachers from the German project visited Latvia

Thirteen teachers from southern German city of Regen visited Riga from 20th to 27th of March, 2011 to explore Latvian educational system, to share experiences, gain new knowledge and business partners. The visit took place within the European Union (EU) Lifelong Learning Programme Leonardo da Vinci Mobility sub-project.
They were different subject teachers from departments and branches of the following vocational schools: Staatliche Berufsschule Regen, Regen and Staaliche Fachoberschule, Hotelberufsschule Viechtach. The host institution in Latvia was business consulting and training center "LatConsul".

German language intensive course

Germany is to open its job market for eight European Union (EU) Member States from Eastern Europe, including Latvia on the 1st of May, 2011. This means that knowledge of German would be a great advantage to those who are going to look for a job in Germany.
Business consulting and training centre “LatConsul” offers intensive German language courses, in addition to German language we plan to provide current information and practical advice on job market and life in Germany.

Schools cooperation on international level within mobility projects

Business consulting and training centre "LatConsul" has developed a long-term cooperation with the folk school in Germany, Regen - Volkshochschule für den Landkreis Regen. Normunds Lokenbahs, the chairman of Ltd. ”LatConsul”, visited Regen to exchange experiences from the 10th till 16th of January, 2011.
The cooperation of both educational institutions began in 2007 when N. Lokenbahs, within European Union (EU) Lifelong Learning Programme Grundtvig3 Individual Mobility Project, attended a course "Professional training of adult education centres and international networking," in Regen. Tthere N. Lokenbahs met the folk high school director Herbert (Herbert Unnasch) and the first ideas about cooperation appeared.

Promoting employment-based immigration – Latvian country-of-origin training in the Spurtti Project 2010-2013

Business consulting and training center "LatConsul" participated in the tender for educational service providers organized by the Southern Finland Economic Development Centre and has won the EU's financial support "Spurtti" for the Finnish language courses for Latvian medical staff and their family members who are planning to move to Finland.

A GRUNDTVIG GRANT (ADULT EDUCATION) / PRACTICAL EDUCATIONAL MANAGEMENT - PROJECT DEVELOPMENT AND MANAGEMENT

The main objective of the course is to provide people working in field of adult education with know-how on some soft skills on management and team building applicable in work with group of people (e.g. employees, project team members, students, etc.) The course is intended to give participants a thorough understanding of core management skills, particularly - but not only - in terms of team’s management (communication, motivation and involvement, team building, disciplining and rewarding). The course will focus on the role of the leader and the purpose of team management. It will answer the questions on, what are soft skills in management and how to work on developing them.

International Contact Seminar “Quality of Adult Education” in Ireland

The International Contact Seminar “Quality of Adult Education” as part of the European Union Lifelong Learning program of adult education sub-program Grundtvig Learning Partnership project was held in Dublin (Ireland) from the 25th till the 28th of November 2010. Seminar was attended by 58 participants from seventeen European countries - Belgium, Cyprus, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Ireland, Iceland, Italy, Latvia, Lithuania, Norway, Poland, Spain, Sweden, Turkey and UK; Normunds Lokenbahs, the chairman of our education centre, was one of them.

Study visit to Portugal

Norman Lokenbahs, the chairman of business consulting and training center “LatConsul” visited Lisbon (Portugal) from the 8th to 12th of November 2010 to represent his country and company, as well as to exchange experience, expand his horizons and gain new knowledge through interaction with other EU member states education sector's leading professionals.

A new educational experience (Austria)

The State Education Development Agency of Latvia offers adults an opportunity to get a financial support to visit Grundtvig workshop within the framework of EU Lifelong Learning Program Grundtvig sectoral program. This is an opportunity for any adult to participate in training events and seminars (in workshops), which take place in another Lifelong Learning Programme country. Participants (10 – 20) from several countries take part in Grundtvig workshops in order to gain new educational experience.
